Crave NOLA

Meghan Blackwell is an up and coming foodie who not only has a heart to serve and care for others through healthcare but also has an appetite and passion for trying new foods in the Greater New Orleans area, and also the cities that she visits. Growing up food and science were her two passions. If she was not looking up a new rock, researching the scientific unknowns she was proclaiming, “I’m hungry, what are we eating?” As all her family and friends know, “Meghan loves to eat!” As a former student of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts’ (NOCCA)  initial culinary program, created back in 2011, she dreamed of becoming a pastry chef in the White House. However, after attending Howard University in Washington, DC and pursuing and receiving a degree in biology her career goals transitioned from culinary to the STEM field. Although she plans to become a physician, food remains at the core of her heart as she enjoys baking and cooking at home. Her free time includes searching websites such as Eater NOLA, Gambit and social media platforms to find the hottest restaurants, food trucks, vendors, and festivals in and around the city. Meghan says that she decided to begin her journey as a blogger after realizing how many photos she had from places that she had enjoyed a great meal. In April of 2019, Crave NOLA was created. The name was selected as a statement to describe her everyday food cravings. For her, food is an experience. Every entrée, appetizer, dessert, or cocktail is crafted to leave each guest with a lasting impression that is sure to leave him/her craving for more.  “Every time that I find a new restaurant, I get so excited. I can talk about food for hours, and I want to use my platform to share my love and excitement for great food with others.”  For more insight into her foodie favorites you can follow her on Instagram @_crave_nola.
